Life is Full of Dry Bones-
Now Hear the Word of the Lord
The Valley of Dry Bones- EZEKIEL 37
1 The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.
3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”

LIFE IS FULL OF DRY BONES
When I’ve looked out over MY valley of dry bones- it seems impossible to hope there could be life restored.

When Bethany was born, I was sure “life” had ended as we knew it. (it had but I couldn’t begin to imagine the God-life still ahead for us 🙂 )

When Kristin died, I felt like I was the valley of dry bones and wondered if God could ever put me together again. Whether I’m looking at a large valley of dry bones, or a small little skeleton- I still wonder if it’s possible that God will come and breathe LIFE into my valley again.

When life translates us into a valley of dry bones- ( death, a child born with special needs, disabilities, divorce, depression, moving, job loss, a tragedy) we stand fixated on the reality of dry- dead- no life in them bones. But as that great old spiritual says, “Dem bones, dem bones are gonna rise again, NOW HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD!
BUT GOD-
God alone is the one who has the power.
God alone is the one who sees the beginning from the end.
God alone can and will put flesh and sinew back on our “dead” lives and breathe life into us again. Why? Because He loves us. He’s committed to us! He’s promised He’ll never leave us alone or forsaken. He said we have a High Priest (Jesus) who is acquainted intimately with our griefs) He is mighty to Save- that’s just who He is. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! This is not just wishful thinking or positive thinking. It is a Promise from the immutable God who cannot lie!

So, the next time life takes you to the valley of dry bones- take your eyes off the bones and look up to our King. I promise, He is faithful- I know, I’ve been to that bony valley many times and He’s always met me there.
Surprising Treasure:
THE WORD OF THE LORD
is what takes dry bones and transforms them
giving them new life for His glory!
Now that’s a “SURPRISING TREASURE!”
dedicated to our precious ones in their dry valley- God is faithful
Cindy…Another encouraging message. I think we have all been there in one fashion or another, but until we can look at others (I am looking at you) and see their hurts and griefs, we will never get to the knowledge that God always restores sevenfold. I always like to tell my kids that “God sees around the corners that we don’t. I still think you need to give writing a book some serious consideration. You have a way with words that are teaching and life giving. Luv ya
Can I borrow that Char? “God sees around the corners that we don’t” That is profound!! Even though He has put me back together many times- it still amazes me! One great thing about growing older- I know that I know that I know- He is faithful!
Feel free to use it Cindy…It has been my own quote that I made up to explain to my kids when they didnt get what they wanted and it always seemed to make them feel a little better.
Blessings on your head, Cindy! We have so much to look forward to, don’t we? One dream is to sit down with you in real life and just talk our heads off! 🙂 You are so full of good stuff to share, I can hardly wait. {{{ <3 }}}
LOL! That would be quite a sight, wouldn’t it Edy? Talking our heads off 🙂 One of these days- <3
