You wore the veil,
you walked the aisle,
you took my hand
And we dove into a mystery.
~Casting Crowns from the song, Broken Together
Weddings and babies are on my brain!
Our daughter gets married in 2 days!! Our daughter-in-love is expecting their 2nd girl less than two weeks after that, our oldest daughter is expecting their daughter about 6 weeks after that, and our son and his fiance have set the date for December of this year!
Besides all the joy, confusion, details, nostalgia, running around in my overactive brain, I can’t seem to get the word “MYSTERY” out of my mind. Who doesn’t love a good mystery? Well, love in marriage is one mystery we might not ever fully unravel.
The Mysteries of Becoming One
How does God meld Two into One?
Forging, refining, fusing His seal between heart and soul.
A marvelous mystery of fire and zeal, excitement and anguish, and head over heels moments that leave you breathless with wonder.
What love is this that God has ignited?
Love Infused with shekinah glory;
Becoming One is a mystery.
Sweet as honey, delicate and determined as the butterfly that can wing its way a thousand miles.
This love, a treasure trove to be discovered, a journey always unfolding.
Forging new paths, climbing impossible mountains-
Joy and Brokenness shared alike
Rest in the valley, holding on through wind and storm.
When Love reigns, selfishness is demolished.
Cruelty cannot co-exist. Pride is put down and unforgiveness is forbidden.
Kindness, compassion, respect, affection, endurance and hope; these things flourish in the kingdom of His love.
The mystery of love is overcoming triumph shrouded with splendor.
Hand in hand, heart to heart, reveling in wondrous moments filled with glory; a child’s first cry, crystalline moments of knowing God’s plan, a love surviving and thriving in this tainted world; beholding your heritage take root in the Lord and fly like eagles…
Conceived in the imagination and purposes of God; this love will remain steadfast, true, immovable, unquenchable.
It is His mystery.
Surprising Treasures: Ephesians 5:22- The Message- Bible Gateway
This is why a man leaves father and mother and cherishes his wife. No longer two, they become “one flesh.” This is a huge mystery, and I don’t pretend to understand it all. What is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the church. And this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honor her husband.
Kinda silly to think I could post anything better than what my wife has written.
precious husband! love of my life!
Your writing is pure poetry, Cindy! I love it all.
Edy- you are a never ceasing fountain of encouragement! 🙂
