I want to shout it loud and clear
For every heart to hear
[Tweet “You’re not an oops, mistake, or blob! You’re a God Thing!”]
belonging to and under the dominion and rule of God.
For by Him ALL THINGS were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—ALL THINGS were created through Him and for Him.
You were created through Him and for Him.
Colossians 1:16.
What if everyone could see the potential value- the treasure God sees when He looks at His creation?
What if we grew up, learning to value and treasure people the way He wants us to?
What if everyone embraced God’s plan for their life?
What if,
the moment a person was conceived,
people recognized that individual’s assigned worth by God?
There is not one single “accident”- no one comes from random chance.
[Tweet “God says “Before you were born I knew you- I had plans for you.””]
You alone created my inner being. You knitted me together inside my mother.14I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this.
15My bones were not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, when I was being skillfully woven in an underground workshop.16Your eyes saw me when I was only a fetus. Every day [of my life] was recorded in your book before one of them had taken place.17How precious are your thoughts concerning me, O God! How vast in number they are!
Psalm 139
Surprising Treasure- God doesn’t give up on us- He bought us claims us, and transforms us into His
GOD THING!
So powerful, Cindy!!! Full of truth.
Love,
Julie
I keep contemplating the thought- If everyone could see their God given Worth- they would see everyone’s God given worth- what an amazing ripple effect would happen in this world.
Deliberately planned.
Specifically gifted.
Lovingly positioned.
We are a God thing. As I think and consider evangelism in our postmodern/postChristian world I am becoming more and more convinced of the need to emphasize the truths in this particular posting. These truths are compelling. We are not accidents. We have a purpose. We have value. I think these are answers to the questions that are still being asked by the unchurched.
Well said- I get so overwhelmed wanting to “fix” everyone- murder, abortion, abuse, these things wouldn’t exist if we could break the cycle of lies that demean people into animals. Yes, we’re sinful, broken people but w are made in God’s image and He values us so much He bought us back. He has beautiful plans for us- when we turn to Him.
My favorite Psalm 139 (along with the 23rd) sure declares what a treasure God creates in each one of us. Even “the least of these” is beyond price. God is so good – thanks for reminding us in such a beautiful way, Cindy!
I love that Psalm 139- reading it in all the different version adds such depth and sparkle to its treasure. Thanks for commenting you God thing you! hugs
🙂 I figure we experience that “chesed” love of God through each other more than any other way. Hugs back!
