Lights low, snuggling on the couch, popcorn & drinks in hand, Jeff & I were riveted to- Mission Impossible 4 ~ Ghost Protocol! I guess my life is so boring (LOL) that I need to watch high adrenaline, fast paced, exciting movies just to spice it up a bit. 🙂 I love the thrill of “impossible” mixed with the intricate plans & skill which suddenly make the mission – possible!
I finally breathed & cheered near the conclusion, when Ethan successfully saves the world from nuclear destruction.
With every ounce of strength, Ethan shouts, “Mission – – -Accomplished”!
It made me think about my mission.
When I was a child, I thought my mission was to grow up & help people by becoming a nurse. In high school, I thought my mission was to speak out against injustice. In college, I floundered; my mom battled cancer & I decided my mission in life was not in the medical field- I wanted to help people with “life”. This mission seemed to make sense when I married the love of my life and he felt called to his mission- pastoring.
Ahhhh- It seemed so clear- at the time: My mission– should I chose to accept it- was to serve God by loving my husband and working side by side with him to help others, become a mother who would invest my life in raising children who loved God & walked in God’s ways.
Not so grandiose, but I embraced my mission wholeheartedly.
With the loss of our daughter, Kristin, to cancer, began a “dark” time in my journey. My focus & passion were lost, the understanding of my mission was jumbled & reduced to “just getting through life somehow”.
Mission? What mission? I had no strength, no vision, no passion, and seemingly no faith……

He opened my eyes & shattered the dark confusion!
It’s not my mission that’s important-
or ultimately, even possible.
It is His mission that is everything
& He invites us to join Him in His victory!
He is the Glorious Impossible-

We’re talking Radical Mission made possible by His Never Giving Up Love.
It’s all about Him-
His love, His sacrifice, His grace, His Gift!
On the cross- He cried, “Mission – Accomplished!
It is finished!”
Surprising Treasures: HE is calling “Come to me all you who labor & are burdened with worries-

Holy Ghost protocol! My prayer is live in power and shadow of the Highest. A Holy Ghost protocol makes He who is invisible become visible through our lives. Holy Ghost protocol makes the improbable probable. The Impossible possible.
Bam! Wish I would have said that! 🙂
I love how you can turn a movie experience into a spiritual one. 🙂 “It is finished!” Mission Accomplished, indeed! Halleluia!
With all the “world events” catastrophes, & natural disasters happening daily, surely the earth is groaning like never before. I have to remind myself daily- Heaven is coming & He will take up residence as King of Kings. Halleluia!
