I want peace in my life.  When I look at everything happening in this world- I am troubled and worried.  I am afraid and overwhelmed.  But God has promised to never leave us or forsake us.

I’ve been upset for over a week now- unsure how to speak out or share.  Speak out, I must but I’ve written this post over 10 times until I finally found peace in writing about- peace.

The world offers a picture of peace, but it’s a mirage that is fleeting.  Our broken world system can’t produce the miracle of God’s supernatural peace- they can only offer a facsimile.

I recently read a blog post about a new genetic test genome that offers women peace- it’s called Tranquility.

Tranquility- One Big Fat Lie

A biotech company had the audacity to steal a picture of a child with down syndrome – no parental permission- no notice of intent- nothing.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so what does this picture say?

It certainly doesn’t say how treasured and wonderful this child is to her family- it says- “hey- if you want peace of mind- take our test so you can make sure this never happens to you.”

This test promises TRANQUILITY.

That says it all.  Ironic, isn’t it?  They promise to give you “peace of mind and heart” so that you can know of a genetic defect- to eliminate it. Women deserve better than this travesty of a solution.  Children deserve better than an evaluation and determination of their worth in the womb.  (sorry- there’s the anger coming out and I’m striving for peace. But sometimes the gloves have to come off and we have to go to the mat.)

I admit, my first reaction was anger! Whoo boy was I angry!  Then I found out there was actually a “down syndrome” photo site which gathered pictures (without permission) of children with down syndrome.

My friend, had her daughter’s picture hijacked and it was being used on a “hate site” talking about those “downies” and how they shouldn’t be allowed to live.

I was sick as I read comment after comment.

She recommended that all of us who blog and put our kids pictures out there check out several other sites to make sure our kiddos pictures aren’t being hatefully and despitefully used without our permission.

I hurried to research the sites and make sure Bethany’s picture wasn’t there- this is my baby girl we’re talking about! but I’ll never know if they have her picture in their gallery!  Thank GOD! The web sites she mentioned that had gathered pictures are disabled- at least for the moment!

So I take a deep breath.  And I pray. “God – give me your gift of peace. This world is crazy and I need your strength and perspective. How do I live without being angry at all that’s going on?  How do I live in your peace when at every turn there is systematic intentional eugenics cleansing that’s decisively ridding our world of imperfect children??????!!!!!”

And then He comes.

As I lift up my anger- my anguish and anxiety- He takes them and whispers to my topsey turvey soul- “I’ll take those burdens and worries- You weren’t mean to carry them. I am the Prince of Peace and my kingdom is coming. You can’t change the world, but I can and will!   Cindy- shine your light, sing your song, speak out in love and rest in my peace.”
