The countdown to Shalom.
In the book Not the Way It’s Supposed to Be: A Breviary of Sin, author Cornelius Plantinga described the Old Testament concept of shalom:
f
The webbing together of God, humans, and all creation in justice, fulfillment, and delight is what the Hebrew prophets call shalom. We call it peace but it means far more than mere peace of mind or a cease-fire between enemies. In the Bible, shalom means universal flourishing, wholeness and delight – a rich state of affairs in which natural needs are satisfied and natural gifts fruitfully employed, a state of affairs that inspires joyful wonder as its Creator and Savior opens doors and welcomes the creatures in whom he delights. Shalom, in other words, is the way things ought to be.[9] (from Wikipedia)
f
I know this is true- not only Biblically but personally! I daily watch in amazement as God patiently brings me to His wholeness; His shalom that passes all understanding.
f
I understand UNshalom better. Life has crippled and cracked me. What about you?
f
None of us get out of this life unbroken, torn, disappointed or schismed.
d
But God is proving Himself as King of Shalom in the shattered shards of my mind and heart.
s
Once blind and fearful, I now see there is nothing too difficult- nothing too broken– nothing outside of His power and dominion.
s
I am experiencing God’s will to have Shalom- for He is Perfect Love and the Prince of Peace.
s
This is not an exclusive gift. The King of Shalom wants you- each and every one of you– to be WHOLE- COMPLETE- HEALED- AT PEACE!

In our earthling timeline, Christmas became the physical turning point of our captivity. No longer slaves to sin but sons and daughters of the Most High God. The Incarnation meant the scales were tipped- the future deliverance began unfolding.
s
The PROMISE OF NO MORE!
The miraculous birth of Messiah- the Christ, is The Shalom beginning to destroy darkness and disorder and restore order and harmony. No more let sin or sorrow reign, nor thorns infest the ground. He comes to make His blessings known- far as the curse is found!

Shalom is here, right now- in our messy, sinful, brokenness.
This isn’t a pie in the sky, distant promise.

The last enemy to be defeated is death and every tear will be wiped away!
Shalom will unfurl until every last iota of the curse is demolished.
Shalom will shine until darkness is dispelled.
God’s plan will prevail until He has restored all things to Himself. (Col 1:13)
And of His kingdom there shall be no end.
And the government shall be upon His shoulders.
And His name shall be called-
Wonderful Counselor
Almighty God
Everlasting Father
The Prince of Peace.
Christmas ignited the countdown to Perfect Shalom.
Believe- His Shalom is for you!
