Advocate- one that defends or maintains a cause or proposal
Wouldn’t it be nice if things would automatically work out for the best in our lives?
But since they don’t, 🙂 I’m raising the praises today for Bethany’s many advocates!
Without her team of supporters, she would likely be pigeon-holed by low expectations and lose opportunity to grow, learn, and mature.
The relief is extraordinary; to know our family is not alone in loving Bethany and pursuing a hopeful future for her.
Already, Karen, Melody, Melinda, and others are working together to create a plan for Bethany for seventh grade. Foresight and knowledge of the system, coupled with determination and wisdom, they are laying the foundation for her success and transition.
WOW!
We must remember- Like Bethany, we are not alone in our struggles.
We all need an advocate.
We all Have an Advocate.
Hebrews says- Jesus lives to make intercession for us before our Father! He is always making all things work together for our good. He is the catalyst of our trans formative journey. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He has gone before us and knows the way. He is making straight our paths. When He called us as His own, He has already given us a future and a hope in Him.  He advocates for our good and right standing. He’s laying the foundation for our successes!
This is our inheritance. Rejoice- We have an Advocate!
Surprising Treasure: I John 2: 1-2 I write this, dear children, to guide you out of sin. But if anyone does sin, we have a Priest-Friend in the presence of the Father: our ADVOCATE- Jesus Christ. When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world’s.
and Hebrews 7:24,25
24Â But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever. 25Â Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save[a] those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
Beth’s advocates at South Middle School in Lawrence KS are everything Cindy has said… and more!
We are so grateful!
It’s an amazing thing to have people advocate on your behalf- even more amazing when its Jesus!
I love this post! As a retired educator, it’s so rewarding to read stories about teachers and others within the system who are living the true meaning of their teacher-as-advocate/friend role. Too often, we hear only the horror stories about our education system and how it fails kids today.
But what I really focused on when I read this is YOU. You are a living example of what being a true advocate is. You advocate for our Lord with your words, with your spirit, and by the example you set. And you do such a wonderful job of it without realizing, perhaps, how many of us need your advocacy and gentle reminders.
Thank you for being a true advocate for Him. And thank you for sharing your little treasures with me.
Have a blessed Sunday and a great week ahead!
Susan
Thank you Susan! He has surprised me many times with His loving kindness and tender mercies. that’s why I sign my blogs- Amazed by His love! 🙂
Amen, to your post and to the comments, above. When we contemplate all the treasures that we have in our Lord Jesus, and from Him through those walking the journey with us, we have more than enough to keep us rejoicing. Halleluia, He is our Advocate, and, amazingly, conforming us to be like Himself!
He is amazing! To advocate, intercede, plead for us- then clothe us in His righteousness and give us right standing, and then to transform and conform us! What a Savior!
Just agreeing with Susan’s beautiful comment about you and your post. Loved it–as always.
Hugs from GA.
