preface- I’m thrilled and overjoyed to announce the engagement of our daughter Sarah, to Keith! I loved the way Keith posted on FB- “I just asked the most wonderful woman in the world to marry me, and she said, YES!”
Is there anything more glorious?
God has asked us the same question!
[Tweet “God is proposing to us- Will you be my forever bride, my treasure- will you say Yes to my “dress”??”]
I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels.
Isaiah 61:10
There’s a lot of buzz and excitement in our family because not only are Keith and Sarah engaged- but they’re getting married this coming December 8th! Yes, that’s right! Less than 6 weeks! So much to do to get ready!
We are making a ton of preparations! Food, wedding favors, menus, venues, invitations, a packing party to help them move, new clothes, new suit, and of course, shopping this Saturday for “the Dress”! But none of this busyness is stressful- it’s exciting and energizing- because “LOVE” is happening- right before our eyes! God is authoring a Love Story!
Brothers and Sisters! We’ve said “Yes” to His robes of adornment and righteousness! God is authoring the greatest LOVE story in our lives right now! LOVE is happening daily- right before our very eyes! We should all be preparing ourselves for the most unbelievable wedding of the Ages!
We are engaged to our Beloved- our Savior- the One who has clothed us with the garment of Salvation and claimed us as His own! Wow!
What if we were told, in 6 weeks, that He was coming back for us???
We’d be consumed with getting “ready” and inviting as many people as we could to be part of the Great Wedding Banquet! We would let nothing get in our way. We would joyfully go about our lives with a song in our heart- because our Bride Groom was coming to take us Home!
So as we make our preparations, invite our family and friend, and share our celebration and pictures with you all, my Surprising Treasure friends, celebrate with us in what God has done for Sarah and Keith-
but let’s rejoice even more that our God has clothed us with His salvation and is not only adorning us- He’s getting ready to come for us!
“YES!”
Maranantha!
Surprising Treasures:
“Praise the Lord! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him.
For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb,
and his bride has prepared herself. She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.”
For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people. Rev. 19:6-8
I’m so happy for Sarah and your family!! Congratulations! It is so exciting planning for a wedding. And I am excited for that glorious day when our wonderful Savior comes back to get his bride, the church, and we will forever be with Him!! Love it, Cindy!
Thanks Lori! It continually amazes me, how God, has given us so many types and shadows of what is to come! Marriage on earth- unity, oneness- Marriage in heaven- perfect unity and oneness. Family- love, nurture and acceptance- God’s Family- complete circle of love, nurture- no one left out from the family! hugs-
Cindy, your excitement is so contagious & meaningful! “What if we were told that, in six weeks, He was coming back for us?” Am awaiting the birth of grandson #1 (grandbaby #3) any time now & it’s the same thing–we will drop everything else, stop all nonessential activities to focus on this essential part of life.
Will have you all in prayer & will have a smile in my heart as I think of your joy & activity! Best wishes to Sarah & Keith!
Cecilia! Congrats on another grandchild! What a heritage the Lord is blessing you with! Another generation to teach about our great God! I like how you said it- “stop nonesesential activities to focus on the essential” Wouldn’t our life be incredible if we always did this? 🙂 Thanks for the best wishes- I’ll pass them along! hugs
To say the least I am excited to be saying yes to the dress- Sarah’s wedding dress and my garment of salvation!
Me too! Although I’m glad you’ll be in a garment and not a dress LOL! Maybe a kilt, my wanna be Scottish man! <3
Aww Cindy…touched me again! I am so happy for Sarah and Keith. I have to throw in this thought…Instead of the kilt how about a cape???? 🙂 🙂
lol- you got it! although kilts have their own “appeal”. Blessings!
