Use some dynamite to blast away the lies on “Mount Identity”-let’s destroy all the negative labels the world, people, and even our own minds try to ingrain into our being and we see clearly the only opinion and truth that truly matters is who God says we are!
When the dust settles, the first nugget you can put in your “bag” is this:
God didn’t make a mistake when He made you! (or anyone else 🙂 )
You are not a random accident, an “oops”, a throwaway, junk, worthless or any other negative label that tries to define you.
There are no castaways or orphans with God. God’s not afraid of imperfections and brokeness the way we are. People may reject and abandon, they may try to discourage, abuse, or destroy- but God has set His love upon each son of man that He has created. Did He not spare His own Son so that you could be redeemed back from the power of sin and death???
When I realized that I was given up for adoption because I was a “mistake” conceived in the back seat of a car to a young unwed mother, God assured me He, Himself had PLANNED my existence and had plans for my life! I cringe when I hear parents say “well, ________ wasn’t “planned”- they were an “OOPS”! LIES! There are no OOPS with God! I cry when children are never seen as the eternal treasure God says they are!
Children- not trees are our world’s most precious resource and gift!
Store this nugget and contemplate it often. Don’t trade it in for any watered down substitute of truth! You were in the mind of God- before you were born and again, when He was on the cross as He died to redeem you! You’re His special creation that He wants to do a major restoration on! Start there when you define who you are!!!! (and don’t you forget it or listen to any other voice 🙂 )
A person’s world can change immediately when he realizes God is the reason he is in the world.
Isn’t that so true? and God has a plan and an identity for His creations!
All I can say is “Amen,” Cindy! What a treasure each individual is, if only all could see as Jesus sees. Love to you from me!
if I could see as Jesus sees- to see the beauty of each one-
What an amazing truth, none of us are here by accident. We are all His creation! Thank you for starting out my Monday morning with this message of His love. Hugs!!
Thanks Rita- I suppose being adopted, I thought this one through at an early age- from my earliest years, I remember my Christian parents giving me a special identity and purpose- so much so that I was shocked when I was 18 and realized the beginnings of my existence had been a big “oops” (I truly had never thought of it that way before! LOL) God plans every person! Hallelujah!
