[box] Perspective is a funny thing. When I’m zoomed in on life, everything is overwhelmingly magnified. Only when He redials my focus, can I see what He sees.[/box]
Life has a way grabbing my spiritual binoculars and dialing me into hyper-focus! The last few months our family has walked through some life situations that have been hyper-magnifing my perspective, absorbing my focus, zapping my energy, and relentlessly occupying my thoughts.

Perspective is lost as “Life” ZOOMS in on the problem and that is literally all I can see. Reading the Word, listening to Christian music helped but I’m still stuck on that ZOOM setting which brings “focal freeze.”

It’s been more difficult for me because it isn’t my personal battle!
d
WORSE- It involves two different adult children and filters down to some of my grandkids! Most mothers would rather “trade places with their children” than watch their children suffer! Their pain is my pain! Their struggles are my struggles.
Hey, I’m a tough cookie at 53 and I can pretty well keep perspective if something is happening to me. But I’m learning a new lesson. I have to learn how to trust “God is working” in my children and grandchildren s lives to bring about His good purposes. As mama (or nana) bear, 🙂 I want to fight every battle, shield them from pain, and give them that “perfect life.” Darn it- I forgot, there is no perfect life.

I’ve been praying, reading the Word, crying, wrestling with fears and feelings of powerlessness. Do I really believe that God loves ________________ and is working in the trial of their life??? Do I really believe He is bigger than the damaging “power” of _______ and the schemes of the evil one in their life? Do I really believe He can deliver ____________ from oppression and give them perspective? Does He have everything under control even though it looks like chaos and destruction?
d
Have I come this far to know that God is faithful to me but I can’t “let go” of my worry and believe He is the SAME AWESOME GOD who is faithful to my children and my children’s children?
YES, LORD I BELIEVE- HELP MY UNBELIEF!
ZOOM! SNAP! FINALLY!
He REDIALS my focus setting. (at least for now 🙂 it’s such a daily process isn’t it?)

I see His love and mercy. His banner over us is love. He never sleeps or slumbers and is always working things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes. He is the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith. He told us to pray, “Deliver us from evil.” He said, “If we being evil- give good things to our children, HOW MUCH MORE will our Heavenly Father give us!” He will never leave us or forsake us and He has plans to prosper us and not to harm us. We can rest in His gracious, redeeming love.
Surprising Treasure:
Let all that I am praise the Lord! With my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me!
He forgives all my sins
heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
God’s love is ever and always, eternally present to all who fear him! MAKING EVERYTHING RIGHT FOR THEM AND THEIR CHILDREN’S CHILDREN as they follow his Covenant ways and remember to do whatever he said.
Your Scripture selections remind me of a couple of my own favorites: “He knows our frame; He remembers we are dust.” And: “If our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart.” The Word comforts us with God’s perspective so we can relax and rest on His promises – what a blessing! I love how you help us “focus” on what’s important, Cindy! Blessings on your head.
Ahhhhh- that was like a dipper of cool water to my parched spirit 🙂 “He knows our frame- He remembers we are but dust.” His compassions and mercy are unfathomable!!! thanks Edy 🙂
Hugs! 🙂
Adrienne and I are always talking about keeping things in perspective. If we look at all situations from the perspective that God is love and that he loves his children there is nothing that we cant handle. Its just hard to see from His perspective all the time :)Great thoughts!
Thanks Micah! Open the eyes of my heart- give me your eyes- His perspective is the Son above the clouds! Your marriage and family will be steady and strong with that foundation!!! hugs
