A year older, she hasn’t talked about getting BRADOS (bravos 🙂 ) this year. (Click here if you want to read about Big Stage Brados from last year) BUT she has asked if I’ve gotten her flowers yet and wondered how many people will bring her flowers. lol I explained I can’t get her flowers to the day of the recital so the flowers will be fresh- and she’s ok with that- as long as she gets them!
As excited as she is about the everyone coming to see her perform and the lights, the stage, the costumes, the performance, the applause- oh, and let’s not forget the flowers :),
I’m as excited as she is because it means she has grown and learned, memorized and accomplished more than I ever dared dream when I first heard the diagnosis “downs syndrome.”
Celebrate:
It’s hard to do when our hearts and minds are consumed with “weighty matters.” Maybe that’s why Jesus said, we’re to become like little children. They have a simple, pure understanding of life. Blowing dandelions, watching clouds float by, jumping on a trampoline with joyful abandon, chasing bunnies, collecting rocks, and swinging are simple celebrations of life. Perhaps this is part of what Jesus meant when He said, “I have come that you might have LIFE and have it MORE ABUNDANTLY!” John 10:10
Before the Big Stage happens, I thought I’d share this video clip from their January statewide competition. I kinda get excited and loud on this video LOL- I guess I need to have someone else video tape for me so you don’t hear me whoop! Bethany is in the back row-back left corner- 🙂
Surprising Treasure: Celebrate before Him in the dance and with timbrel and with singing!
Bethany’s daddy loves the “Big Stage” too. I have coached but being a Dazzler Dad has been as rewarding as anything I have ever done. Beth makes it so much fun, exciting, and rewarding. I am so proud of her!
She has got it going on!
That is an awesome performance, Cindy! Tell Bethany “bravo”!
A lovely glimpse of our time in eternity, dancing (and shouting for joy) in celebration & praise. And, even I will dance as nicely as they did, because of that new body I’ve been promised! 🙂
🙂 That is true- and I’ll dance right beside you because I won’t be self-conscious! hugs Cecilia!
Oh, yes! The cares of this world weigh us down, when the Lord of the universe wants to set us free to soar – thank God for every reminder of that dazzling abundance of life as a child, and even better, as a child of God! And, thank God for a child’s delight that even if only for a moment gives us a glimpse of that glorious abundance. Thanks for the video, too, happy mama! 🙂
Whatever you do- do it with all your might! Beth surely dances with all her heart! We are so amazed that God has given her this talent/passion and delight to watch her delight in dance! She’s a dazzling Dazzler! hugs Edy 🙂
