When you can’t handle your storms- turn to the God who rides the winds.
There are solar storms sending solar winds 92.96 MILLION miles through space to our little privileged planet! This, in turn, has created the most amazing aurora borealis in the last 50 years! On the other hand, the storms are also shutting down air travel and threatening to interfere with satellite communications. Life can be like that- can’t it?
Life “Winds” blow into our lives causing a wild, awesome splendor,
but also disruption and chaos.
The Winds of Life have been blowing hard the last two weeks.
The force of the winds bend my spirit, almost incapacitating me at times. But then I start pushing, struggling forward, taking one determined step at a time. The “storms” in my mind are relentless, disrupting my peace and communication with the One who Speaks to the Storms and tells them to “be still.” If people didn’t “need” me, it would be so easy to curl up in bed and sleep through until everything got better. But despite the chaos and disruption, as I lift up my eyes, I see the beauty of His glory and grace.
Part of pushing forward is finding a place to hide in His word. A promise, a “cleft in the Rock”, a resting place, a shelter. The other part, is looking for, seeking His beauty.
Maybe the following scripture will comfort and encourage you in the way it is sheltering me.
Let all that I am praise the LORD.
O LORD my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty. 2 You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens; 3 you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds.
You make the clouds your chariot;
You ride upon the wings of the wind.
Psalm 104:1-3
And so I say to myself today- “Cindy- LET ALL THAT IS IN YOU- BLESS AND PRAISE THE LORD! HE IS WALKING ON WINDS OF YOUR STORM!”
I can sooooooooooo relate Cindy. Storms are raging around everyone including myself, and yet God is still God. He is in the boat with us calming us, taking our burdens, talking us through the winds and rain. He keeps speaking through his word with assurance that He is indeed still right by our side. To cast all our cares on Him for He cares for us. I know that I know He is faithful and his grace is all sufficient. Praise be to God! 🙂
Thank you Lori for the encouragement! He is faithful. His grace is sufficient. hugs- Cindy

Precious Cindy – Your insights broaden my horizons. What a wonder to think of our steady sun having storms! And, then, to remember that no matter what, Jesus is in the boat with us, so we needn’t despair. I’m also reminded that even our tears are therapeutic, like a good thunder storm, refreshing the atmosphere. Isn’t it funny how God has messages for our hearts in the design of His creation, reflected in His Word? “He careth for you,” for sure! (And, I do, too 🙂 Hugs!
Thank you Edy!!! When I think of His wonders- His greatness- His creation- it begins to put “life” back into perspective. He rides the winds! wow!
“Lord, surround us in a storm of Your peace!”
Winds can bring many things into a life. Its just nice to know that our God rides on the winds. He is greater than any storm we may face. He is never changing and ever faithful to help us in our time of need. Thanks for the reminder.
Amen! What are winds to Him!?!
