I laughed this morning reading my husband’s comment on my last post!
And I quote, “I miss those nesting days too. These days its the flutter of wings everywhere, but then, I like the feel of a breeze in my face. And our children are flyers. They really are.”
(of course he feels wind- he’s an eagle)
“The fluttering of wings is everywhere” is an understatement!
I need to really start “thinking eagle” not chicken-
you know- a mother hen clucks and all her chicks come running to the safety of her wings. 🙂
Tomorrow marks another flight debut. Finley is flying to kindergarten. (and I have to say as “Nana”, she’s more than equipped and ready for this next venture 🙂 Sarah forwarded me the postcard her Kindergarten teacher sent. Finley READ every word by herself 🙂
“Dear Finley, I’ve been getting everything ready for our first day of school and I’m glad to have you in my class. We’re going to have a great year together!”
She hugged it to her chest and smiled. “Mrs. Beard is getting everything ready for me!
We’re going to have a great year! Mrs. Beard is my favorite teacher!”
CHILD LIKE FAITH- “she’s my favorite teacher- she’s getting everything ready for me.”
As God’s children, do we have the faith to
KNOW by His WORD-
He’s getting
everything ready for us?
God is in the business of building His children into a strong, effective, purpose-driven, light-filled image bearers in this dark and dreary world. Since He knows each one of us intimately, His processes and plans differ vastly with each individual. Even though the context of Jeremiah 29:11 is God speaking to His people in Babylon, I believe we can learn from this passage that God has a plan of purposeful good for His people:
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
and again in Psalm 138:8 He promises
” The Lord will work out his plans for my life—
for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.
Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”
and of course one of my personal favorites John 14:2 NLT
“I go to prepare a place for you. In my Father’s house there are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you.”
With all the comings and goings at our home, I’m fixing my eyes and heart on His promises for all of us:
NOW- while we’re living between the trees
AND
OUR FUTURE – when we’re eating from His tree of life again.
Surprising Treasures: God will accomplish His plans and purposes. Nothing is impossible for Him.
Amen! Thank you for once again sharing an *uplifting* message with your readers! We truly shall “mount up with wings like eagles!” How grand, God’s design, that we can encourage and build up one another with His Word for us! Hugs!
Thanks Edy- God’s design- I like that- I need to see God designed us to fly the spiritual heights as surely as He designed birds to fly the physical heights. Maybe then I’ll be quicker to “spread my wings.” 🙂
