Mommy! Mommy!
I so excited-today is Big Stage! Today is Big Stage!
I‘m getting ready for brado!”
(the picture below is from the “Big Stage” recital from 2010 )
These were Bethany’s first words this morning. Our “days” are marked by events- Of course, there are Church Days and School Days, there days are Dazzlers Days (her dance group), there’s Finley/Cohen Days, Amy/Spencer Days, Sonic Days, and every time she helps me write the grocery list she puts SUBWAY DAY at the bottom in capital letters. She also keeps track of which sibling has come over and calls them or texts if she thinks they’ve let Too Many Days lapse since they’ve seen her.
(Beth & Finley)
But today is the day we’ve been waiting for since- hmmm- last May. We are in countdown mode- only 1 more “big stage” practice: then this coming Friday-HER BIG STAGE DAY! “Her” fourth dance recital and Finley’s first- for D a z z l e r s– a wonderful Christian dance group here in town. So, since it’s the high point of her year, I’ll be posting some pictures of them in their costumes. It’s to His glory that Bethie has memorized 5 separate dances- two lyrical, one tap, one pom routine, and the finale! I could cry but mostly I’m smiling so big my cheeks hurt! She’s already reminded me about giving her flowers at the end of the program, doing her hair and nails, making sure I have her costumes ready, her tights, her shoes, her blush- we go through the check list daily, even though it’s still a week away.
Seven or eight times a day (and I’m not exaggerating) she tells me,
“I so excited for the Big Stage Mommy.”
But it finally dawns on me I haven’t been really listening carefully!
“What did you say? The big stage- You’re getting ready for what? Brado? What’s Brado?”
“Mommy, you know at the end of the program- they clap and yell “Brado! Brado!” (bravo 🙂 )
Ah ha!!! Oh to have the childlike excitement and innocent joy of knowing when you do your best, at the end, you’ll hear cheering and Jesus yelling “Brado.”
Surprising Treasure: It’s really simple: Live life loving Jesus and loving people and if you listen closely, I think you just might hear cheering and the words “BRADO! BRADO!” from the Lover of your Soul!
Tell Beth that those “Dancing with the Stars” that are on T.V. dont have a thing on her and I hope when they yell Brado Brado that she also gets a standing ovation Love to you proud mama.
You got it Charlene- and you just earned your name dropped in the drawing again! 🙂
That girl has a gift of organization, for sure, and strength that comes only from the joy of the Lord!
I wasn’t going to post, since I have no idea how to use an ITUNES card 😉 and I already have such a stack of yet-to-read books. But, you managed to pull tears up to my eyes, again, with your writing, Cindy. So, I had to chime in and tell you so. Hugs!
Edy- I abSoLuteLy love you! I’m sending you hugs and lots of brados! Thanks for always chiming in!
Cindy…..I haven’t seen you for quite some time but I can still say you are a most wonderful mother. God has blessed both of you with many gifts.
I am temporarily back in the Gburg waiting for my latest Grandson to be born.
Mom & Dad (Knuth) said to say Hi.

Love Ya,
Kris
Ahhh Kris- I have to do a blog very soon on Amy and Spencer- I just don’t know where Bethany would be without her two precious friends/almost siblings 🙂
I can’t wait for the big show either- the excitement is mounting! (you are entered in the drawing. 🙂
This brought tears of joy for me, so I can imagine how you must be holding back the tears as she is on stage.
Yesterday I met with a mom at work. She just gave birth to her 3rd child at 37 years of age. He has Downs. They moved here from Congo while she was pregnant with her 2nd child who is now 2 yrs of age.
As I talked with her about how the baby’s feedings are going and how important pumping milk is until he is able to come to breast, I then turned the focus on her. I asked how SHE is doing. She smiled and sat talking with me with a veil of Perfect Peace. Her response, “I am doing very well because I know that God will help me raise this child.” I wanted to jump up and hug her. I agreed with her that most certainly God will help her raise this child, and there is no holding God’s miracles back with such faith.
I Praise God that he is with this family who has already lived through so much, that he has brought them here to be a living testimony for HIM and His Glory.
I Praise God for your family and the testimony you share through these glimpses into your life. Thank you for sharing. They bring me joy.
Isn’t that awesome how God orchestrated you to be with that Mom? I wish I had not had to struggle through the whole issue of raising a child with special needs- God has always been so faithful- but to me it was overwhelming and frightening! What a testimony to me that she was anchored in peace! Hugs Deb- you are entered in the drawing. 🙂
I love that girl 🙂 It’s gonna be a great night!
I love your girl 🙂 too!!!! It is going to be a great night!
I am so proud of Bethany! And – I am looking forward to YOUR big stage night, Cindy! Can’t wait to see you In My Daughter’s Eyes!
I praise the Lord for you and the whole Dazzler team Caryn- what a vision to be open to everyone- and look how many tropheys you still win! And Better yet- I know the Lord is delighted. As for my “big stage” I’m just praying I don’t trip when I’m walking backward. LOL *you’re entered into the drawing

Cindy Boo,
You have a very special little girl, but she also has very special parents. I wish we could have seen the performance. It would have been worth the trip to Lawrence. Maybe we should plan that for next year. I’m still convinced you could give inspirational programs. Love all of you. A Mar
