A New Year- a New Beginning
Have you ever thought about what our Father in Heaven has planned for us this year? Or, do you worry about what “life” has in store for you?
“Life” may throw almost anything at us but greater and wider and deeper is His power and love for us!
Jermiah 29:11 NLT
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
He gives us:
A limitless supply of wisdom for our questions, faith for our doubts, peace for our worries, love that covers a multitude of our shortcomings, joy for our depression, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, intimacy in exchange for loneliness, freedom from sins that try to ensnare us, peace for our turmoil, direction for our wanderings, righteousness for our humanness, healing for our brokenness, tenderness for the despairing, strength for the weak, His presence that will never leave us, transformation from the inside out, and a commitment to us that we cannot fathom!
Maybe the better question is- what do I have good to offer my Father??
♥
This is what I hope to offer Him:
A teachable spirit, an intentional decision to learn from Him and His Word
Humility- acknowledgement that I know very little and that He knows everything
Control- I want to learn to relinquish my need to control situations and people
Praise and Thankfulness
An awareness of what He is doing and is going to do
Most of all- I hope to grow in His love that I might love Him more.
May we all receive God’s presence in this coming year as He abundantly and freely pours out His blessings and love on His children. Then may we offer everything back to Him.
Surprising Treasure: The God Who Makes Us Alive with His Own Life
the God who created the cosmos, stretched out the skies,
laid out the earth and all that grows from it,
Who breathes life into earth’s people,
makes them alive with his own life:
“I am God. I have called you to live right and well.
I have taken responsibility for you, kept you safe.
I have set you among my people to bind them to me,
and provided you as a lighthouse to the nations,
To make a start at bringing people into the open, into light:
opening blind eyes,
releasing prisoners from dungeons,
emptying the dark prisons.
I am God. That’s my name.
I don’t franchise my glory,
don’t endorse the no-god idols.
Take note: The earlier predictions of judgment have been fulfilled.
I’m announcing the new salvation work.
Before it bursts on the scene,
I’m telling you all about it.” Isaiah 42:5-9
